World's Best Potatoes

Here's a quick side dish when you are too busy to slave over the stove.

5-6 medium Yukon Gold potatoes

3 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1/2 Tablespoon salt

1/2 Tablespoon pepper

2-3 Tablespoons McCormick Grill Mates Onion & Garlic Medley Seasoning

Wash and cut up potatoes into bite size pieces. Put in large bowl. Add in the salt, pepper, onion and garlic, and EVOO. Stir until well coated. (You can add more or less of the seasonings to suit your individual tastes.) Put all in a greased 9 x 13 baking dish. Bake at 375 until golden brown and the potatoes are tender.

These are delicious!! My hubby and children request them on a regular basis.

The Honey BBQ Chicken we made to go with our potatoes.

YUMMY!!!!

Hey you. For some reason, Twitter doesn't list you as a contact, when I try to send a direct message. So, might wanna check and see if there's something funky in your direct message settings.

Anyway...this is in response to what you said on Twitter, about a jersey cake, lol.

I've been browsing bakeries, looking for ideas for Deirdre's upcoming Hannah Montana b-day cake, and so have been recently reminded again just how INSANELY expensive good cakes are (this is why I totally make my own, heh). I don't know what kind of price you're looking at, but I wanted to point out that a jersey cake would be pretty easy to make, even if you don't have much decorating experience. You can probably buy a Wilton pan shaped like a shirt or jersey, on eBay. And if you want to save even more cash, a jersey is a pretty easy shape to cut out of a sheet cake. ;)

Anyway, I don't know what experience you have, but you've always struck me as the type who would enjoy and be good at artistic projects, so you could definitely save some cash and have a lot of fun, if you'd like to try doing the cake, yourself. If you have no idea what you're doing, just let me know; I'd be happy to give you some tips. I wouldn't want to do it as a profession, but I always have fun, doing our kids' cakes, and once you buy some of the tools and supplies, the cost per cake becomes pretty cheap, as a lot of the equipment gets reused, over and over.
SO much easier than it looks, to make a professional-quality cake, and your guests will think you're a creative genius, lmao. ;D

Just checked eBay for ya, real fast-like, and there are a couple pans listed, pretty cheap ($11-$15, w/shipping). Just look up "shirt pan" or "shirt cake pan," to find them. But seriously-seriously, you CAN just cut one out, free-hand. My hands shake something fierce, so if I can cut out cake shapes, anyone can, heh.

As you can tell, I have cake on the brain, these days. This is what comes of putting off birthday plans until the last minute. :/ Going to be up late, tonight, cutting and shaping fondant decor, for next weekend's huge monster of a cake. :D
